University of Texas Rio Grande Valley - School of Podiatric Medicine

The UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine is a four-year, professional graduate level education, granting the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. The podiatry program offers students a superior medical education taught by distinguished faculty who are at the forefront of the podiatric profession. UTRGV-SPM trains and prepares students to be highly competent physicians who will excel in residency training and become global leaders in the field of podiatric medicine, surgery, and research.
The UTRGV School of Podiatric Medicine (SOPM) has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). The School of Podiatric Medicine was granted candidate status by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) on June 8, 2022. The American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (AACPM) admitted UTRGV-SPM into membership on October 28, 2022.
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Podiatric Medicine welcomed its inaugural class of 27 students in August 2022.
