Barry University

Barry University's School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, founded in 1985, is one of three podiatric medical schools in the U.S. that is integrated within a comprehensive university. There are dual-degree options through Barry's 4-year program; while earning a DPM degree, students can also earn an MBA or a master's in public health (MPH) degree. Students never fail to mention the excellent mentoring offered by faculty like Dr. James Losito, team physician for the NBA's Miami Heat, and Dr. Charles Southerland, founder of the Yucatan Crippled Children's Project. Our location in vibrant, diverse South Florida ensures patient population will be equally diverse, a critical component for the 21st century medical practitioner.

We are committed to the protection and advancement of student rights and interests by advocating in legislative and educational arenas. We provide resources to our members to assist them throughout their education as they transition into podiatric residents and physicians."
